In our continuous effort to further develop the cycling services provided to visitors of Greek tourist destinations, and following the successful implementation of the “Bike Friendly Hotel” and “Bike Friendly Partner” certifications, the Greek Bike Specialist certification for travel agencies, agents, and tour operators is now being introduced and applied.
The “Greek Bike Specialist” is both a course and a certification focused on cycling tourism in Greece, targeted at individual travel agents, travel agencies, and tour operators. Participants in the Greek Bike Specialist learning platform from around the world now have the opportunity to learn about the advantages of cycling tourism in Greece, certified Bike Friendly Hotels, and certified Bike Friendly Partners. They will also become familiar with the cycling routes across the country, the criteria met, and the services offered by the certified hotels, as well as the services and activities provided by certified cycling shops and companies (bike rentals, organized cycling tours, etc.).

Participants who successfully complete the online learning and certification process will receive the Greek Bike Specialist certificate and will be able to organize travel for their clients in Greece’s bike-friendly destinations, collaborating with members of the Bike Friendly network (hotels and cycling companies).
Travel agents can register on the Greek Bike Specialist e-learning platform, either as representatives of a travel agency or a tour operator. After initial registration, they can access the thematic sections of the e-learning process. Once they complete the reading and navigation through the support materials, a brief assessment quiz follows. To successfully complete the online course, participants must correctly answer at least seven (7) out of ten (10) questions, with a total of three (3) attempts allowed.

Within a few days after successfully completing the course and passing the assessment quiz, participants will receive their Greek Bike Specialist certificate via email.
“The growing demand from visitors and tourism professionals for soft tourism products, such as cycling services, inspired this new project by NatTour. The ‘Bike Friendly Hotels’ and ‘Bike Friendly Partners’ network, a national network of hotels, accommodations, and partners committed to serving cycling enthusiasts, will now intersect with a corresponding (international) network of travel agents specializing in cycling tourism in Greece. Through expanded bike-friendly collaborations, NatTour aims to further promote alternative forms of tourism, especially cycling tourism,” noted Ms. Vicky Karantzavelou, Public Relations Officer at NatTour.
