Destinations: Why cycling tourism?

Cycling tourism is the best option for extending the tourist season. Of the multitude of products proposed for extending the tourist season, most either require large and time-consuming investments or a number of other reasons prevent their development.

Cycling is an activity that appeals to all ages and all incomes. It is both environmentally friendly and provides exercise.

Amateur cycling is very well developed in Central and Northern Europe, where there are tens of thousands of clubs with millions of members. Cyclists prefer the spring and autumn months, not midsummer.

The investment required in terms of businesses and destinations is minimal and, by far, less than any other form of tourism.
