Mytilene invests in sustainable mobility and receives Bike Friendly Destination certification
The Municipality of Mytilene has initiated the installation of seven electric bicycle stations at strategic locations across the city. At the same time, the municipality is set to receive the “Bike Friendly Destination” certification during the “Tsamakia Kids MTB 2025” event.

As part of its broader commitment to urban mobility and the promotion of alternative transport options, the Municipality of Mytilene is expanding its cycling infrastructure with new electric bike stations, soon to be available to both residents and visitors.

The system will allow users to borrow an electric bicycle free of charge for a designated period and return it to any of the docking stations, which will include locking and charging facilities to power the bicycles while parked.

The launch of the bike station network coincides with Mytilene’s official recognition as a bike-friendly destination, a certification granted by the Lesvos Cycling Club during the “Tsamakia Kids MTB 2025” event, which will take place on Sunday, June 22 at 10:00 AM at Tsamakia Park, as part of the municipality’s Children’s Activities Week.
