The mountain bike race held in Leros on June 28th concluded with great success, delivering memorable moments, emotion, smiles, and renewed hope for the future of cycling on the island.
Organized by KOAKOS Cycling Club in collaboration with the Municipality of Leros, the race benefited from the dedicated support of Fanouris Kontogiorgakis, cycling champion from Kos and Bike Friendly network representative (LEROS BIKES Cycling Store). The event was also supported by Alter Bike Tours and a team of dedicated volunteers.
This race served as the final stage in a series of qualifying competitions for athletes aiming to participate in the European MTB Championship in Sweden.
The high-energy participation of young children demonstrated once again that cycling in Leros is not just a sport—it is a growing cultural movement, nurtured through collaboration, solidarity, and a shared vision for a sustainable future.
