Castelli Hotel Zakynthos Honored for Responsible Hospitality Practices
The Castelli Hotel in Zakynthos was awarded a Silver Award at the European Responsible Tourism Awards 2025 for sustainable operation

Castelli Hotel in Zakynthos received the Silver Award in the category “Responsible All-Inclusive Hotels of Europe” at the 2025 European Responsible Tourism Awards, organized by the International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT Global). The ceremony took place on October 16th, 2025, in Brussels, with the support of EasyJet Holidays.
This distinction recognizes all-inclusive hotels that apply principles of responsible tourism, focusing on the reduction of environmental impact and the reinforcement of social and economic benefits for local communities.
Evaluation Criteria
Castelli Hotel stood out for its respect for the natural environment and its strong connection with local production. A family-run, adults-only property, it was built around the oldest eucalyptus tree on Zakynthos, which the owners preserved, even reducing the number of rooms during construction to protect it.
The hotel integrates local products into its all-inclusive services, such as its own olive oil and wines from local producers. It also organizes activities that bring guests closer to local traditions, including olive harvesting and traditional cooking classes.
According to the judges: “Castelli Hotel is an exemplary model of a property harmoniously integrated with nature, communicating Responsible Tourism clearly and genuinely to its guests.”
