15th Mountain Biking Races of Oreini Nafpaktia, August 30–31, 2025

The 15th Mountain Biking Races of Oreini Nafpaktia will take place in Ano Chora, a mountain village in Western Greece, on the weekend of August 30–31, 2025. This long-established event has become a regional institution, attracting both road and mountain bikers and offering two full days of action in a stunning natural environment.

The races are co-organized by the environmental organization “Prasino+Mple”, the Municipality of Nafpaktia, and the Region of Western Greece, with the approval of the Hellenic Cycling Federation. Local clubs and professionals also play a key role in supporting the organization and ensuring its success.

Race Schedule

On Saturday, August 30, a 36 km road race will take place, starting at 18:00 from the central square of Ano Chora.

On Sunday, August 31, three mountain biking races are scheduled: 40 km, 26 km, and a 40 km e-bike (electric bike) race, starting at 10:30 from the same central square. Participants will compete in categories based on gender and age, and the 26 km race is open to teenagers aged 14–17.

Awards ceremonies will take place in the central square of Ano Chora at 20:00 on Saturday and 14:00 on Sunday.

Safety and Support
Race safety will be supported by the Ano Chora Health Center, the Forest Service, the Traffic Police, and the Nafpaktos Fire Department, along with the Messolonghi Volunteer Rescue Team (EOED). The local community, business owners, and the Ano Chora Cultural Association actively contribute, demonstrating how sports can effectively support tourism and local development.

Race numbers can be collected at the race secretariat in the central square:

• Saturday, August 30: 16:00–17:00 for the road race
• Sunday, August 31: 08:30–09:30 for the mountain biking races

Finally, participants should note that the area features “Ta Petrina Guest Rooms”, a certified member of the Bike Friendly network, offering convenient accommodation for visitors.
